Keys to
Reaching Your Highest Potential
1. Know yourself. Take an honest inventory of yourself. What have you discovered that brings you the most satisfaction; what has caused you the most distress. Write an “I am” list. Create your own “personal resume”.
2. Ask Other People. Of your friends, ask one or two or others what they see in you as your greatest strengths and your weaknesses. Remember – ask someone you trust and feel completely safe asking this question.
3. How Are You Inspired. Inspiration comes from all areas of a person’s life. Take the time to find out the time and place where you feel the highest connection with your authentic self.
4. Visualize The “Future You”. Mickey and I talk about this quite often on the show. Let your whole self know that success is possible and is just waiting for you.
5. Create a Dream Board. Let this be a marker and a reminder of your path to your highest potential. Cut out pictures, draw your own, but keep it handy and visible to allow yourself to frequent opportunities to “feel” what YOUR Dream Board promises will come true.
6. Forgiveness. Learn the value of forgiveness. Don’t let past betrayals or injustices keep your heart and mind consumed with resentments and “pay backs”. It only keeps you stuck in the past with all of its problems.
7. Who Made You Feel the Most Proud of Yourself. Most of us have at least one person who – if we take a moment and visualize them – we can still remember how truly great we felt when we were around that person. Let that Person always be a part of your journey to your highest potential.
8. Learn to Laugh. Laughter is a great tool for instant stress reduction, lowers your blood pressure and it takes more calories to laugh! Allow yourself the freedom to just “laugh”.
9. Connect With A Higher Power. I believe that this life is hard enough. Allow yourself the opportunity to feel what it is like to “trust” in something beyond yourself.
10. Don’t Ever Give Up. I read the other day “if you are living, there will be unhappiness”. How true is this statement! We face challenges and set backs in our life daily. Ask others who have succeeded – they all have their stories of challenges and defeats.
